Procurement Specialist (MIDC)

Position: Procurement Specialist

Location: Mumbai / Wada (Onsite & Offsite)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to manage the procurement of End of life / Scrap batteries, Consumables / Chemicals for Hydrometeorology Extraction process, spare parts, and related materials from both domestic and international suppliers. The candidate must have hands-on experience in import procedures, clearing & forwarding, and procurement of hazardous electronic waste items. Knowledge of the local e-waste management market and vendor ecosystem is a mandatory requirement.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle end-to-end procurement activities for end of life / scrap batteries, spare parts, machinery, PPE & Fire equipment and related materials.
- Handle end-to-end procurement activities for Hydrometeorology Extraction process, including all sorts of consumables, chemicals, spare parts, machinery, etc.
- Source and negotiate with domestic and international suppliers to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement.
- Manage import documentation, customs clearance, freight coordination, and forwarding activities.
- Coordinate with CHA, logistics partners, shipping agents, and transporters for safe movement of goods.
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, especially for hazardous electronic waste and related materials.
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships and evaluate supplier performance regularly.
- Monitor inventory requirements and coordinate with internal departments for procurement planning.
- Maintain procurement records, purchase orders, invoices, and shipment documentation.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, statutory requirements, and environmental compliance norms.
- Identify reliable suppliers within the local e-waste management and recycling market.

Required Skills & Experience

- Proven experience in procurement and sourcing, preferably in Recycling of Lithium Ion batteries, electronics, spare parts, or e-waste industries.
- Mandatory experience in importing hazardous electronic waste items.
- Solid knowledge of customs clearance, forwarding, shipping documentation, and import procedures.
- Good understanding of local e-waste management markets and compliance requirements.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in MS Office and procurement documentation processes.

Qualification

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Commerce, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- Relevant industry experience will be given higher preference over qualification.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Experience working with foreign suppliers and international procurement.
- Familiarity with hazardous material handling and compliance processes.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
