: Desktop/Networking Engineer Designation: Desktop/Networking Engineer Roles & Responsibilities: Design and Implementation: Develop and implement new network solutions or enhance the efficiency of existing networks. Network Maintenance: Maintain and control computer networks and associated computing environments, including systems software, programs software, hardware, and configurations. Equipment Installation: Install, configure, and provide support for network equipment such as routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS, and DHCP. Security and Networking Expertise: Possess experience in network security, LAN, and WAN to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data. Problem Identification and Resolution: Identify and resolve problems that may arise with computer networks and systems. Procurement and Management: Procure network equipment and manage subcontractors involved in network installation. Firewall and Routing Configuration: Configure firewalls, routing, and switching to optimize network efficiency and security. Performance Optimization: Maximize network performance through continuous monitoring and troubleshooting. Software and Hardware Maintenance: Maintain existing software, hardware, and other network equipment by updating them to the latest firmware releases. Network Monitoring: Monitor computer networks and systems to identify areas where performance can be improved. Firmware Updates: Ensure timely updating of network equipment to the latest firmware releases. Collaboration: Work closely with IT support personnel to address network-related issues. Skills: Analytical mind-set Quick learning of new technologies Time management skills Adherence to processes Strong documentation skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Commercial and business awareness Exceptional troubleshooting skills Attention to details Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field. Certifications:- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required, (Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) preferred). Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience.
