Background The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust working towards creating an equitable society and enhancing the quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India. THF primarily focuses on the health and well-being of remote and underserved populations, with special emphasis on children, women, and persons with disabilities. In addition, THF also works towards holistic development in the areas of Education and Livelihood. Our two-fold strategy involves:
- Working within Aspirational Districts and regions with a high poverty index across North, North-East, and East India.
- Catering to lower-income and migratory populations through various urban programs. Over the past 15 years, THF has reached more than 35 million beneficiaries through its programs and interventions. The Foundation works through direct project implementation on the ground, while also providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organizations in India funded through THF USA and RIST. General Information Location of Job: Samri, Chhattisgarh Type of Employment: Contractual for 1 year, renewable based on performance Number of Positions: 01 Reporting To: Project Manager / Medical Officer JOB PURPOSE The Driver will be responsible for driving the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU), ensuring movement to planned villages as per the route map, and maintaining the vehicle in proper working condition. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Operate and maintain the Mobile Medical Unit/Ambulance while ensuring the safety of the medical equipment installed in the vehicle.
- Ensure movement of the MMU to planned villages as per the approved route map.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and vehicle inspections.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks for the vehicle whenever required.
- Ensure timely fuel filling and maintain proper fuel records.
- Ensure periodic servicing of the vehicle is completed and reported on time.
- Maintain the vehicle logbook regularly.
- Follow defensive driving practices at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness of the Mobile Ambulance both internally and externally.
- Act as a positive role model while working with medical staff and patients.
- Before commencement of duty, inspect the vehicle’s brake system, electrical system, lubrication system, cooling system, and tyres, and remain prepared for emergencies.
- Assist the Coordinator/Medical Officers during mobile OPDs, routine health camps, and emergency situations.
- Undertake any other duties assigned from time to time by the coordinating office/management. OTHER INDICATIVE REQUIREMENTS Educational Qualification
- 10th / 12th / Graduation
- Functional / Technical Skills and relevant Experience & Other Requirements (Behavioral, Language , Certificate etc.)
- 2–5 years of driving experience
- Must possess a valid Heavy Vehicle (Commercial) Driving License
- Experience in driving ambulances or heavy vehicles
- Good knowledge of local routes and villages
