Job Summary The role involves managing freight pricing, vendor relationships, and end-to-end shipment operations within an NVOCC / freight forwarding environment, with a primary focus on US trade lanes. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring competitive pricing, efficient execution of shipments, and seamless coordination with US customers, carriers, and overseas agents. Key ResponsibilitiesPricing & Quotation Management
- Prepare and manage competitive quotations for US import/export shipments (Ocean FCL/LCL, Air, and multimodal)
- Analyze US market trends, carrier tariffs, and surcharges (GRI, PSS, fuel, congestion, etc.)
- Coordinate with US sales teams and overseas agents for spot rates and contract pricing
- Maintain and update rate sheets for major US ports and inland destinations Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with shipping lines, airlines, US trucking companies, and warehouse partners
- Negotiate rates and service contracts with carriers such as Maersk, MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, and other service providers
- Monitor vendor KPIs including transit time, detention/demurrage control, and service reliability
- Develop alternate vendor options for US lanes to ensure cost and service efficiency Operations (Core Focus – US Logistics)
- Handle end-to-end shipment execution for US import and export shipments
- Coordinate booking, documentation, and cargo movement with origin and destination teams
- Manage House Bill of Lading (HBL) and Master Bill of Lading (MBL) processes
- Track shipments and proactively update US customers and agents on shipment status
- Coordinate with US customs brokers for clearance processes (ISF filing, AMS filing, etc.)
- Manage exceptions such as delays, rollovers, port congestion, and customs holds
- Work with trucking providers for last-mile delivery and inland transportation in the US
- Ensure compliance with US regulations including FMC guidelines and import/export requirements NVOCC / Freight Forwarding Functions
- Act as an intermediary between shippers and carriers for US trade lanes
- Secure space with carriers and manage allocations during peak seasons
- Issue shipping documents and ensure accuracy in all trade documentation
- Coordinate with global agents and partners for smooth cargo movement Logistics Coordination
- Collaborate with internal teams (sales, pricing, documentation, customs clearance)
- Ensure smooth cargo flow across origin, transit, and destination points
- Maintain strong communication with US clients and international stakeholders Reporting & Analysis
- Track freight costs, margins, and operational efficiency for US shipments
- Monitor vendor performance and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Prepare MIS reports on shipment volumes, delays, and profitability
- Suggest process improvements for pricing and operations workflows Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of US freight forwarding and NVOCC operations
- Familiarity with US shipping regulations (FMC, ISF, AMS filing)
- Experience handling US time-zone coordination and client communication
- Robust negotiation and vendor management skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and logistics/ERP/TMS systems
- Excellent problem-solving and multitasking abilities Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
- Experience handling US trade lanes (imports/exports) is highly preferred
- Prior experience working in US shift / night shift environment
