An interior designer transforms indoor spaces into functional, protected, and aesthetically pleasing environments by assessing needs, developing design concepts, and managing construction projects from start to finish. They collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to bring spaces to life while adhering to budgets and building codes.

Key Responsibilities Client Consultation: Determine client goals, preferences, space requirements, and budget constraints. Concept & Planning: Develop initial design sketches, mood boards, and 2D/3D layouts using software like AutoCAD or SketchUp. Sourcing & Procurement: Select and order materials, furniture, lighting, and fixtures, while managing purchasing logistics and invoices. Project Management: Create project timelines, coordinate with contractors (painters, plumbers, electricians), and oversee in office installations. Essential Skills Technical Proficiency: Mastery of design software (AutoCAD, 3ds Max, or Revit) and strong drafting skills. Space Planning: An advanced understanding of how to optimize spatial flow, lighting, and movement. Communication: Ability to present design concepts persuasively and maintain robust relationships with vendors and clients. Creativity & Aesthetics: A keen eye for color, texture, form, and overall design principles.
