Job Location:- Baddi Himachal Salary:- 45000-55000 CTC Role Description This is a full-time, in office role for an Assistant Manager in Production (Wire & Power Cable) at Plaza Wires Limited, located in Baddi. The Assistant Manager will oversee the production process for LT and HT cables, house wires , and power cables, ensuring compliance with quality standards and timelines. Responsibilities include managing production schedules, monitoring equipment efficiency, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing process improvements. Additionally, the role involves coordinating with the quality assurance team and maintaining production documentation. Qualifications
- Technical expertise in wire and power cable production, including LT, HT, house wires, and power cables.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, equipment maintenance, and process optimization in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with quality control procedures, compliance standards, and safety protocols in the electrical cable industry.
- Proficiency in team management, communication, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is a plus.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical and operational challenges effectively.
- Familiarity with ERP software and production management tools is an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within the electrical cable manufacturing industry will be preferred. KRA for Assistant Production Manager 1. Production Planning & Target Achievement
* Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
- Ensure optimum utilization of machines, manpower, and materials.
- Coordinate with PPC for smooth production scheduling. 1. Process Control & Manufacturing Operations
* Supervise wire drawing, bunching/stranding, insulation, sheathing, coiling, and packing operations.
- Monitor critical process parameters and maintain process stability.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, Control Plans, and Work Instructions. 1. IATF 16949 System Implementation
* Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 requirements in production activities.
- Support implementation of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, and Control Plans.
- Participate in internal audits, layered process audits (LPA), and corrective actions.
- Maintain traceability and process documentation as per IATF standards. 1. Quality Management
* Reduce rejection, rework, and customer complaints.
- Ensure product quality as per BIS, IEC, IS, and customer specifications.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams for in-process inspections and CAPA implementation. 1. Continuous Improvement
* Drive Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S activities.
- Improve OEE, productivity, and process efficiency.
- Reduce scrap, cycle time, and downtime through improvement initiatives. 1. Safety, EHS & Compliance
* Ensure safe working practices and PPE compliance on shop floor.
- Maintain housekeeping and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements. 1. Maintenance Coordination
* Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Ensure minimum machine downtime and faster problem resolution.
- Monitor recurring equipment failures and improvement actions. 1. Manpower Management
* Supervise operators, supervisors, and contract manpower.
- Manage shift planning, attendance, discipline, and training.
- Develop team skills for quality and productivity improvement. 1. Inventory & Material Control
* Monitor consumption of copper, aluminum, PVC, XLPE, and packing materials.
- Control scrap generation and ensure proper reconciliation.
- Coordinate with stores for material availability and FIFO implementation. 1. Dispatch & Customer Requirement Compliance
* Ensure proper packing, labeling, and identification of finished goods.
- Support on-time dispatch as per customer schedules.
- Ensure customer-specific requirements are followed during production and dispatch. 1. MIS & Reporting
* Prepare daily production, rejection, downtime, and efficiency reports.
- Analyze production data and share improvement plans with management.
