- Sofa Supervisor Industry: Furniture Manufacturing Department: Production / Manufacturing Designation: Sofa Supervisor Reporting To: Production Manager / Plant Head Location: Murbad Experience Required: 810 Years in Sofa or Upholstered Furniture Manufacturing Salary: As per company standards Job Summary We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Sofa Supervisor to oversee sofa manufacturing operations in our furniture production unit. The candidate will be responsible for managing manpower, production planning, quality control, material utilization, and timely completion of sofa production targets while ensuring adherence to company standards and safety practices. Key Responsibilities Production Supervision
- Supervise complete sofa manufacturing activities including:
- Wooden frame assembly
- Foam fitting
- Upholstery work
- Stitching
- Final assembly & finishing
- Ensure daily production targets are achieved as per planning schedule.
- Monitor production flow and reduce bottlenecks in operations. Team Management
- Handle and supervise carpenters, tailors, upholsterers, helpers, and operators.
- Allocate daily work responsibilities to production staff.
- Train workers on production techniques, quality standards, and safety practices.
- Maintain discipline and productivity on the shop floor. Quality Control
- Ensure sofas are manufactured as per approved design, dimensions, and quality standards.
- Check upholstery finishing, stitching quality, foam fitting, comfort level, and final appearance.
- Reduce rejection, rework, and material wastage.
- Coordinate with QA/QC team for inspections and corrective actions. Material & Inventory Coordination
- Coordinate with stores and purchase departments for raw material availability.
- Monitor usage of fabric, foam, wood, hardware, and accessories.
- Control material wastage and improve utilization efficiency. Production Planning & Reporting
- Update daily production reports and manpower reports.
- Coordinate with planning and dispatch teams for order completion timelines.
- Ensure timely completion of customer orders. Required Skills
- Robust knowledge of sofa manufacturing processes.
- Good understanding of upholstery, foam, fabric, and wooden frame work.
- Leadership and manpower handling skills.
- Problem-solving and production coordination abilities.
- Ability to read production drawings/designs.
- Knowledge of quality standards in furniture manufacturing. Educational Qualification
- Diploma / ITI / Graduate preferred.
- Technical knowledge in furniture or upholstery manufacturing is an advantage. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
