Role Description The Manager Sugar Cane Development is a full-time, on-site role based in Bagalkot. The role involves working directly with farmers and agricultural stakeholders to promote best practices in sugarcane farming and cultivation. Key responsibilities include engaging with communities, developing and implementing sustainable agricultural programs, conducting research on crop yield improvement, and assisting with annual planning and reporting. In this capacity, the officer will actively contribute to advancing Verdant Group's mission and goals in agricultural sustainability. Verdants tissue culture seedlings aim to increase farmer yields by 10-20% and increased sucrose content so as to maximise sugar per acre. Qualifications
- Experience with Annual Giving and Fundraising initiatives to support agricultural development projects
- Strong Communication skills to engage with stakeholders, farmers, and communities effectively
- Proficiency in Philanthropy and fostering donor relationships to ensure program funding
- Ability to conduct thorough Research and analyze agricultural practices for continuous improvement
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Agricultural knowledge and experience, especially in the sugarcane farming sector
- A Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or related fields is preferred
