Plant Head [Dry Fruits)
Location: Jammu
Reports to: Director Operations/ COO
Industry: Food Processing, Nuts & Dry Fruits (FMCG)
About the Role
Lead the Jammu manufacturing unit end‑to‑end across Production, PPC, Quality, Engineering, Utilities, Warehousing, HR/Admin, EHS, and Compliance. Deliver world‑class productivity, quality, and cost efficiency for a high‑SKU, fast‑moving food processing environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plant Operations
- Oversee complete operations: receiving, sorting, grading, roasting, seasoning, packing, and dispatch.
- Achieve production targets, OEE improvements, yield optimization, downtime control, and efficient changeovers.
- Drive daily reviews, performance dashboards, and process discipline.
2. PPC (Production Planning & Control)
- Lead production planning aligned with demand forecasts, SKU mix, capacity availability, and RM/PM readiness.
- Ensure accurate scheduling, WIP visibility, adherence to plans, and smooth coordination with SCM, QA, and stores.
3. Engineering, Maintenance & Utilities
- Own preventive/predictive maintenance and equipment reliability across processing & packing lines.
- Manage utilities: compressors, boilers/steam, HVAC/cold rooms, water systems, DG sets, fire systems.
- Improve MTTR/MTBF, manage AMC/vendor performance, and drive energy and utility cost optimization.
4. Quality & Food Safety
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI, HACCP, ISO 22000, BRC/IFS.
- Maintain stringent QA checks for RM/WIP/FG—moisture, aflatoxin, grading, sensory, metal detection, hygiene.
- Lead RCA/CAPA for deviations and support complaint resolution.
5. Stores, Warehouse & Dispatch
- Oversee RM/PM and FG warehouse operations—FEFO/FIFO, accuracy, hygiene, and space utilization.
- Ensure dispatch efficiency and alignment with supply chain timelines.
6. EHS, Statutory & Compliance
- Ensure 100% compliance with labor laws, factory act, environmental regulations, fire norms, and EHS standards.
- Drive a safety-first culture with SOPs, audits, and training.
7. People Leadership
- Manage staff and contract workforce; ensure capability building across Production, QA, Maintenance, Stores.
- Maintain discipline, shopfloor morale, and team development.
8. Cost & Capex Management
- Own plant budgets, monitor cost drivers, reduce wastage, and improve energy efficiency.
- Propose and implement capex for new equipment, automation, capacity enhancements, and safety upgrades.
9. Reporting & Stakeholder Management
- Provide clear, timely updates on KPIs, cost, quality, safety, and improvement projects.
- Coordinate closely with central SCM, QA, Finance, and NPD teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.Tech/B.E. (Mechanical/Production/Food Tech/Industrial)
- 15–22 years in FMCG/Food Processing; end-to-end plant management
- Exposure to nuts/dry fruits/snacks/spices manufacturing preferred
- Must have experience in high‑SKU, hygiene-sensitive environments
Compensation & Location
Budget: Up to ₹40 LPA Fixed
