Description
Role & responsibilities
- Planning, implementing, and managing geotechnical exploration programs, including assigning laboratory testing.
- Conducting field observations and site visits.
- Data interpretation, parameter derivation and design of geotechnical works including slopes, foundations, retaining structures, earthworks, strengthened earthworks and ground improvement
- Review of geotechnical reports and drawings
- Preparation of technical specifications for geotechnical investigations, earthworks, ground improvements etc.
- Carry out regular design reviews in accordance with the company Quality Management System.
- Preparing and presenting technical presentations to project team and clients
- Performing dam safety inspections.
- Conducting potential failure mode analyses and risk analyses for water storage dams, tailings ponds and ash ponds.
- Take responsibility for delivery of small projects or parts of projects under senior guidance and will assist in the internal checking and review of work by other members of the geotechnical team.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary design team interfacing directly with other ground engineering team members, other internal design teams from various disciplines and contractors
- Assisting project managers with geotechnical proposals. Preferred candidate profile
- Masters degree in Geotechnical Engineering
- 1015 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering
- Solid expertise in IS Codes related to Geotechnical Engineering
- Advanced proficiency in GeoStudio (SEEP/W, SLOPE/W), Plaxis 3D, and AutoCAD
- Extensive experience in material characterization, liquefaction assessment, seepage analysis, slope stability, and settlement analysis
- Proven capability in preparing, reviewing, and leading design reports, drawings, and technical specifications
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Highly resourceful, detailoriented, and organized professional with strong analytical and decisionmaking skills
