Analytical Chemist (West Bengal)

Position: Analytical Chemist (Oil Technology) Location: Kolkata Experience:
• Experienced candidates preferred, specifically in Oil Technology, edible oil, refinery, biodiesel, lubricants, or related industries.
• Candidates who have worked in Dabur/Emami/Bajaj/Marico/FMCG sector Role & responsibilities:
- Conduct physical and chemical analysis of oils, fats, and related products.
- Perform routine laboratory testing including moisture, FFA, peroxide value, iodine value, density, viscosity, etc.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments such as GC, HPLC, Spectrophotometer, Karl Fischer, and other analytical equipment.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained as per industry and regulatory guidelines.
- Prepare test reports, maintain laboratory records, and document analytical findings accurately.
- Monitor raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products for quality compliance.
- Support R&D; and production teams in troubleshooting quality-related issues.
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and maintain housekeeping standards.
- Coordinate with production and quality teams for process improvement initiatives. Preferred candidate profile:
- Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry and laboratory practices
- Understanding of oil refining and oil testing parameters
- Valuable documentation and reporting skills
- Familiarity with GMP/GLP and quality systems
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Excel, Word, reporting tools)
- Candidates having prior experience in edible oil, biodiesel, refinery, lubricant, or oil processing industries will be preferred.
