FOR A CLIENT : Role Description The Design Manager
- AV will be responsible for end-to-end design, coordination, and delivery of advanced Audio-Visual systems across all sectors such as corporate campuses, mixed-use developments, hospitality, healthcare, education, and public infrastructure. This role requires strategic design thinking, technical expertise and client engagement to ensure world-class AV solutions aligned with project goals, budgets, and timelines. Key Responsibilities
• The candidate will manage & prepare concept, schematic, and detailed design of integrated AV systems across diverse environments, including boardrooms, executive briefing centers, auditoriums, convention centers, performance venues, training and collaboration spaces, digital signage networks, video conferencing and unified communication systems, PA/VA systems, BGM systems, IPTV/media distribution systems, AV-over-IP solutions, centralized control & automation systems.
- Define system architecture, signal flow, redundancy, and scalability strategies.
- Ensure designs comply with international standards, industry best practices and project- specific requirements.
- Interface with architects, interior designers, MEP consultants, ICT/ELV teams, acoustic consultants, and structural engineers.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry advancements to deliver innovative and future-ready solutions.
- Participate in high-level design workshops and coordination meetings.
- Oversee preparation of Technical specifications, Tender drawings, BOQs and Cost Estimates, Performance criteria.
- Oversee technical bid evaluations and vendor assessments.
- Serve as the primary technical consultant during the design phase, guiding clients, clarifying requirements, and aligning solutions with business objectives.
- Provide clarifications during tendering and contract award stages.
- Provide technical oversight during installation and implementation.
- Conduct periodic site inspections for quality assurance. Prepare drawings and material submissions.
- Supervise testing, commissioning, and system acceptance.
- Foster technical excellence within the AV practice.
- Act as primary technical point of contact for clients. Understand business objectives and translate them into AV solutions.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, delivering presentations, demonstrations, and design justifications as required.
- Support business development initiatives and proposals. Qualifications
• B.Tech / B.E. in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation or Civil Experience
• 5+ years of relevant experience in AV design and consultancy with technical expertise.
- Proven experience leading large or complex projects.
- Consultancy background shall be preferred.
- Deep knowledge of professional AV technologies and system design.
- Expertise in AV-over-IP, networked media, and control systems.
- Strong understanding of acoustics principles and room design considerations.
- Familiarity with international standards (AVIXA, IEC, etc.).
- Ability to develop scalable enterprise-level AV solutions.
- Able to travel to client sites as and when needed Software & Tools
• AutoCAD (mandatory)
• Revit / BIM coordination (preferred)
• MS Office Skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Solid presentation and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple high-value projects simultaneously.
- Commercial awareness and cost optimization mindset. Preferred Certifications
• CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) by AVIXA
• PMP or equivalent project management certification (desirable)
