Bank Reconciliation / Payroll Accounting Specialist

Role Overview

The Bank Reconciliation / Payroll Accounting Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate records of all bank transactions and ensuring payroll transactions are properly recorded, reconciled, and reported in a timely manner. This role requires robust attention to detail and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and currencies

Investigate and resolve reconciling items and discrepancies in a timely manner

Process and record payroll transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local and international payroll requirements

Maintain payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts

Coordinate with HR and external payroll vendors to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing

Prepare month-end close entries related to payroll accruals, benefits, and taxes

Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations for reconciling items

Identify opportunities to improve reconciliation and payroll accounting processes

Maintain compliance with Indian statutory requirements (PF, ESI, TDS, PT, etc.)

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CA Inter / CMA Inter preferred)

3–5 years of experience in bank reconciliation and/or payroll accounting

Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite, SAP, or similar ERP systems)

Strong knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)

Familiarity with Indian payroll compliance and statutory regulations

Experience with multi-currency and multi-entity environments is a plus

Robust analytical, organizational, and communication skills
