Civil Engineer (Bhadrachalam)

- Civil projects Position Summary** The Head of Department (HOD) – Civil Projects to oversee and manage all aspects of large-scale manufacturing and infrastructure project lifecycles. The role involves ensuring strategic CAPEX execution, sound engineering practices, team leadership, and seamless delivery of both Greenfield and Brownfield projects, with a strong focus on pulp, paper, and heavy process industry infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end civil project administration including mill master planning, structural design approvals, and large-scale project budgeting.
- Ensure compliance with industrial building codes, environmental regulations, EMP frameworks, and municipal/factory statutory standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, construction vendors, and external consultants to ensure timely project milestones, quality control, and cost management.
- Conduct regular technical and safety audits of construction sites to ensure adherence to engineering designs, heavy machine foundation specifications, and company safety policies. Liaise with government authorities, municipal corporations (e.g., GCC), and pollution control boards for project clearances.
- Monitor project timelines, material utilization, workforce productivity, and progress metrics using standard project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MSP).
- Resolve engineering design bottlenecks, site issues, and contractor disputes in coordination with consultants and legal teams.
- Support and maintain structural safety, corrosion control, risk mitigation, and plant operational continuity—particularly during complex brownfield expansions within live, operating paper mills. Ensure comprehensive records related to structural stability certificates, land records, and environmental clearances.
- Assist in implementation of cost-effective engineering practices, sustainable green building designs, and specialized paper industry utilities like ETP (Effluent Treatment Plants) and waste management infrastructure systems. Qualifications
- Master’s Degree (M.Tech / ME) in Structural Engineering / Construction Management or equivalent post-graduation (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Civil Engineering (mandatory)
- Strong functional knowledge and oversight capabilities in engineering and project management software including Primavera, MSP, Revit, and AutoCAD and other softwares (mandatory) Experience
- Minimum 25 years of experience in Civil Engineering & Project Management
- Strong exposure to large-scale Greenfield and Brownfield project execution in a paper mill or heavy process industrial setup
- Direct experience in designing and constructing heavy machine foundations (such as paper machines or pulp mills), water intake wells, water treatment, and massive environmental/waste management projects mandatory Age Criteria

- Deep knowledge of civil engineering, structural design, industrial building layouts, and agile loading foundations for heavy machinery
- Familiarity with anti-corrosive structural treatments required for high-humidity and chemical-exposed process environments
- Excellent stakeholder management, senior-level communication, and vendor negotiation skills
- Ability to handle complex construction challenges, legacy waste zones, and large project teams
