Job Title: Senior Scientist Hands-on experience in the preparation and formulation of nano-particles using lipids, polymers etc Location: HYDERABAD BACHUPALLY INDUSTRIAL AREA Department: Formulation/Drug Delivery Reports To: Director/Principal Scientist JOB SUMMARY:The Senior Scientist will lead the design, development, and optimization of drug delivery systems using lipid, polymer or metal based nano-particles for proteins, peptides (BCS Class 3 4), and nucleic acids (mRNA, siRNA, DNA). This role requires deep expertise in nanoparticle formulation, characterization, and translational research, with a focus on preclinical development. The ideal candidate will drive innovation, mentor junior scientists, and contribute to project strategy. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:I. II. III. IV. V. VI. VII. Lead formulation development of NPs for proteins, peptides, and nucleic acids, optimizing stability, encapsulation, and delivery efficiency. Design and execute high-throughput screening (HTS) of formulations using automation and advanced analytics. Develop and optimize microfluidics-based nanoparticle synthesis and downstream processing (TFF, chromatography). Characterize LNPs using DLS, NTA, cryo-EM, HPLC, p Ka determination, and in vitro/in vivo performance assays. Oversee cell-based assays (transfection efficiency, reporter gene expression, ELISA) and animal studies (PK/PD, biodistribution). Collaborate cross-functionally with CMC, preclinical, and regulatory teams to advance formulations toward IND-enabling studies. Mentor junior scientists, troubleshoot technical challenges, and contribute to file patentsand publications. QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE:I. II. III. IV. V. VI. VII. Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field. 5+ years (industry/academia) in lipid/polymer-based drug delivery, preferably for proteins, peptides, or nucleic acids (mRNA focus a plus). Expertise in LNP formulation, microfluidics, analytical characterization (DLS, HPLC, SEC, DSC), and downstream processing (TFF, ultrafiltration). Proven track record in designing and optimizing delivery systems, with experience in preclinical animal models (rodents, pharmacokinetics). Robust data interpretation, problem-solving, and project leadership skills. Experience with high-throughput screening, automation, or DoE (Design of Experiments) is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and mentorship.
