IT Support Engineer (Wadala)

Department: Information Technology Reports To: IT Manager Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused IT Support Engineer to provide technical support and ensure the smooth operation of computer systems, hardware, and software. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IT systems, a problem-solving mind-set, and excellent communication skills to assist users with technical issues across the organization. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line support to internal staff via phone, email, or in person.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and IT equipment.
- Monitor and maintain local area networks (LAN), internet connections, and related equipment.
- Manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions in Active Directory and other systems.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including setting up workstations and accounts.
- Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, support requests, and resolutions.
- Coordinate with vendors and external support services when necessary.
- Support remote work setups including VPN, remote desktop, and collaboration tools.
- Ensure data security and perform regular system backups. Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
- Experience in CCNA/MCSA.
- Solid knowledge of Windows and/or macros operating systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, and basic networking.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Microsoft, ITIL, etc.) are a plus. Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, Zendesk).
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and data privacy regulations.
- Experience supporting cloud-based environments (Azure, AWS, Google Workspace).
