- Leadership and Supervision: Provide technical leadership and supervision to the instrumentation team, ensuring effective maintenance, repair, and operation of instruments related to Life science, Basic science and Engineering research.
- Instrument Management: Oversee the procurement, installation, calibration, and maintenance of instruments for common Facility including reviewing and renewing CMCs, AMCs ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Technical Support: Helping research groups in preparing specification and procurement processes and training users for the operation of instruments and preparing SOP.
- Upgrades Identify : opportunities for instrument upgrades and modernization, and implement plans to ensure the instrumentation facility remains state-of-the-art
- Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs for instrumentation staff, ensuring they stay up to date with the latest technologies and techniques.
- Workshops: Inviting application specialists from companies for Conducting workshops for faculty
- Maintaining the inventory of Spares related to Equipment.
- Collaboration: Coordination with Deans and Hods for Lab renovation/ Modifications and installation of new equipment.
- Manage the instrumentation team, including recruitment, performance evaluation, and professional development.
- Manage the instrumentation budget, allocating resources effectively to ensure the smooth operation of instruments and the team. Qualifications 1. Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Biology) 2. At least 5-7 years of experience in instrument maintenance, procurement, and repair 3. Proven track record of managing instrument maintenance and procurement processes 4. Solid leadership and communication skills 5.
