School Librarian (Nanpara)

Job Summary The Librarian is responsible for managing the school library, organizing library resources, promoting reading habits among students, and supporting teachers and students with academic research and learning materials. Key Responsibilities 1. Library Management
- Maintain and organize books, journals, magazines, and digital resources.
- Catalog and classify library materials using standard library systems.
- Maintain library records, book issue/return registers, and digital library software. 2. Book Circulation
- Issue and receive books from students and staff.
- Maintain proper records of borrowed books.
- Monitor overdue books and maintain discipline in the library. 3. Collection Development
- Recommend new books, reference materials, and educational resources.
- Maintain updated stock as per CBSE guidelines.
- Coordinate with management for procurement of recent books. 4. Student Support
- Guide students in selecting books and reference materials.
- Encourage reading habits through library activities.
- Assist students in research and project work. 5. Library Activities
- Organize reading programs, book fairs, and library week.
- Conduct storytelling sessions and reading competitions.
- Promote digital learning resources. 6. Coordination with Teachers
- Support teachers with reference materials for lesson plans.
- Maintain subject-wise resources for academic support. 7. Library Maintenance
- Maintain discipline and cleanliness in the library.
- Ensure proper shelving and preservation of books. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science (B.Lib / B.Lib.I.Sc)
- Master’s in Library Science (M.Lib) preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge and library management software. Skills Required

- Knowledge of cataloguing and classification
- Computer literacy (MS Office / Library Software) Experience
