Head Logistics- Export & Import Operations (Coimbatore)

Role & responsibilities Export Operations
- Lead and coordinate with Production, Sales, and Logistics teams to ensure timely and cost-effective dispatch of export shipments.
- Oversee preparation, verification, and control of all export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, shipping bills, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and statutory filings.
- Strategically manage relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transporters; finalize shipping schedules and negotiate competitive freight contracts.
- Monitor end-to-end shipment execution and ensure proactive communication with customers on dispatch, transit, and delivery status.
- Own Letter of Credit (LC) documentation processes and coordinate with banks for timely submission, negotiation, and closure.
- Ensure full compliance with DGFT, Customs, and applicable international trade regulations.
- Drive export incentive management (RoDTEP, RoSCTL, EPCG, etc.), ensuring accurate claims, documentation, and audit readiness.
- Evaluate freight quotations, benchmark logistics costs, and implement cost optimization initiatives across export operations.
- Review and present MIS reports on shipment performance, freight spend, service levels, and delivery KPIs to management. Import Operations
- Lead coordination with overseas suppliers, CHAs, and freight forwarders to ensure timely and compliant inbound shipments.
- Oversee verification and control of all import documentation including invoices, packing lists, bills of entry, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and insurance documents.
- Ensure smooth customs clearance and coordinate last-mile delivery to plants or warehouses.
- Monitor import duties, taxes, and statutory payments in coordination with Finance and Accounts teams.
- Proactively resolve shipment delays, clearance issues, and logistics bottlenecks to minimize operational impact.
- Ensure adherence to DGFT, Customs, and other regulatory frameworks governing import operations.
- Maintain complete and audit-ready import documentation and compliance records.
- Benchmark freight rates, review vendor performance, and drive logistics cost reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Purchase, Production, Sales, and Finance teams to enable seamless import operations aligned with business demand.
- Prepare and present MIS reports on import status, freight costs, vendor performance, and operational efficiency. Preferred candidate profile
