Injection Molding Production Operator (Coimbatore)

Job Description: Injection Moulding Supervisor Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced and hands-on Injection Moulding Supervisor to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the injection moulding department. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient production, high product quality, team safety, and adherence to company standards and procedures.
- Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and lead a team of injection moulding operators, technicians, and helpers.
- Plan, organize, and monitor daily production schedules to meet targets and delivery deadlines.
- Ensure all machines are running efficiently with minimum downtime.
- Troubleshoot moulding defects and process issues (short shots, flash, burn marks, sink marks, warping, etc.).
- Perform or supervise mould setting, colour changes, and material changes.
- Maintain strict quality control standards and conduct regular quality inspections.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols (PPE usage, machine guarding, material handling).
- Train, mentor, and evaluate operators on machine operation, process parameters, and best practices.
- Monitor and control key process parameters (temperature, pressure, injection time, cooling time, etc.).
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Production Planning departments.
- Maintain 5S standards and good housekeeping in the moulding area.
- Track production reports, rejection rates, downtime, and efficiency metrics.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and company quality management systems. Requirements & QualificationsEducation:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Plastics Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field. Experience:
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in injection moulding, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of various engineering plastics (PP, ABS, PC, Nylon, POM, etc.). Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of injection moulding machines (Hydraulic, Servo, Toggle, etc.).
- Experience with hot runner systems and multi-cavity moulds.
- Knowledge of scientific moulding principles is a robust advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and mould layouts. Leadership & Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Preferred Certifications:
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or 5S.
- ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 awareness.
