Role Purpose

To lead and manage plant electrical maintenance, automation systems, utility optimization, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure maximum equipment availability, operational efficiency, safety, quality, and cost optimization while supporting business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance & Automation


- Ensure effective maintenance and reliability of all plant electrical systems, PLCs, drives, and automation equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns related to PLCs, drives, motors, control panels, and electrical systems.
- Demonstrate robust working knowledge of Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Allen-Bradley PLCs and drive controls.
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

Process Equipment Management


- Support and maintain critical manufacturing equipment across Extrusion, Calendaring, Cutting, TBM, TCP, and Final Finish areas.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine performance, productivity, and equipment availability.

Project Management


- Plan, execute, monitor, and close CAPEX and OPEX projects within approved timelines and budgets.
- Lead automation, modernization, equipment upgradation, and productivity improvement projects.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders for successful project implementation.

Cost & Inventory Management


- Manage maintenance budgets and ensure expenditures remain within Annual Operating Plan (AOP) targets.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through indigenous development of spare parts and process improvements.
- Ensure optimum spare parts inventory through effective planning, monitoring, and stock control.
- Identify and implement energy conservation and power-saving projects.

TPM & Continuous Improvement


- Lead TPM initiatives and deployment of maintenance best practices.
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through systematic problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Safety, Quality & Compliance


- Ensure compliance with all statutory, electrical safety, and company EHS requirements.
- Lead initiatives to improve workplace safety, product quality, and equipment reliability.
- Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and corrective action implementation.
- Ensure adherence to ISO, TPM, and quality management systems.

Team Management


- Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance engineers, technicians, and contract manpower.
- Drive performance management, capability building, and succession planning within the team.
- Ensure optimum manpower utilization and productivity.

Cross-Functional Coordination


- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Projects teams to ensure uninterrupted plant operations and timely product delivery.
- Support business requirements while maintaining safety, quality, and cost objectives.

Educational Qualification


- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Master's Degree (preferred but not mandatory).

Experience

- Manager: 10–15 years of relevant experience in manufacturing industries.
- Senior Manager: 15–20 years of relevant experience in tyre, rubber, automotive, process, or continuous manufacturing industries.
- Hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, automation, project management, and reliability engineering.
