Job Description: Environmental Health and Safety- Associate Manager Job Overview The role of an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Associate Manager is vital for maintaining and improving the safety, health, and environmental standards within an organization. This position involves developing, implementing, and overseeing policies and programs that ensure a safe workplace and compliance with applicable regulations. EHS Associate Managers work closely with various departments to mitigate risks, train employees, and initiate corrective measures, all while fostering a culture of Safety and Environmental responsibility.Responsibilities&Duties Conduct regular workplace safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Monitor work areas to ensure compliance with local and state regulatory guidelines. Develop and maintain Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Work Instructions.Provide training to employees on safety procedures, legal requirements, and industry best practices. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-miss events; perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures. Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, training, and regulatory compliance.Audit Lockout–Tagout (LOTO) standards at the workplace. Maintain and enforce compliance with permit-to-work systems. Conduct monthly departmental safety meetings with section in-charges. Ensure availability, proper use, and monitoring of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Conduct detailed risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies.Kaizen or continuous improvement initiatives toward EHS. Qualifications&Skills Educational Qualifications (Mandatory ) Degree in Engineering ( electrical , Mechanical or Chemical) or Diploma in Engineering ( electrical , Mechanical or Chemical) Degree/Diploma in Industrial Safety from RLI/CLI or a State-recognized university/board. Experience Minimum 5+ years of experience in EHS management roles.Technical Knowledge Strong understanding of ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health&Safety Management System). Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification is an added advantage. Thorough knowledge of occupational health, EHS regulations, and compliance requirements. Familiarity with emergency response and crisis management procedures. Skills&Competencies Willingness to work in shifts as required. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel , Word) , Data Analysis , SAP , Animation and Video developer , Develop EHS presentation using Chat GPTE, Gemini ,etcStrong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to conduct safety training sessions, presentations, and toolbox talks.
