Position Overview Lead customs compliance, high-volume apparel warehouse distribution, and inbound supply chain workflows in Tirupur to meet rapid-fashion retail demands. Key Responsibilities India Customs & Regulatory Compliance 1. Oversee end-to-end import clearance via ICEGATE (India Customs Electronic Data Interchange Gateway), coordinating closely with regional Custom House Agents (CHAs) and port authorities. 2. Ensure strict adherence to India Customs Regulations, DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade) policies, and BIS standards for garments and textiles. 3. Verify and file Bills of Entry, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and Certificates of Origin. 4. Manage Bonded Warehouse formalities to minimize port demurrage and shipping container detention charges at local entry points. Retail Warehouse & Inventory Management 1. Manage daily inbound warehouse operations including high-volume garment receiving, unloading, sorting, and storage. 2. Partner with local Third-Party Logistics (3PL) facilities to align warehouse capacity with seasonal launch timelines. 3. Resolve immediate floor discrepancies including shipment shortages, transit cargo damages, and delivery variances. 4. Streamline systematic inventory mapping to optimize warehouse space utilization for rapid store replenishment cycles. Cross-Functional Coordination 1. Collaborate with global supply teams at the Turkey Head Office, overseas freight forwarders, and depot authorities. 2. Partner internally with India Buying, Merchandising, Retail Operations, Finance, and local IT teams. 3. Track monthly performance scorecards evaluating the efficiency of customs clearance vendors and suppliers. System Tracking & Performance Management 1. Track end-to-end inbound shipment status using enterprise WMS and Microsoft Dynamics 365. 2. Update departmental and team KPIs systematically to maintain operational transparency. 3. Prepare regular executive reports detailing warehouse utilization, customs clearance timelines, and logistics spend. Team Leadership & Safety 1. Direct, mentor, and evaluate a team of warehouse shift leads, logistics assistants, and operations staff. 2. Host ongoing safety training programs and uphold rigid warehouse compliance protocols. Skills & Competencies 1. Customs Expertise: Deep knowledge of India import duty structures, HS Code classifications, and port workflows. 2. Tech Literacy: Hands-on proficiency with specialized Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and MS Office. 3. Fast-Fashion Agility: Capacity to manage high-turnover apparel logistics under tight product launch deadlines. 4. Leadership: Strong cross-functional communication, vendor management, and crisis-resolution skills. Education & Experience Requirements 1. Education: Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Supply Chain Management, or International Trade. 2. Experience: Minimum 7-10 years in Commercial Logistics, Supply Chain, and Inbound Retail Warehouse Operations. Must include at least 5 years managing garment or textile imports within India.
