Category Manager - Babygear, Toys (Mumbai)

Job Description: Job Overview: We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and strategic category manager/Sr Category Manager to join our team. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for onboarding current brands in the categories and sourcing goods and services for the company, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.

You will collaborate with various departments to understand needs and make sourcing decisions that align with the company's goals and budget. Key Responsibilities: Sourcing & Vendor Management: Identify, onboard, and manage high-performing brands in Baby Gear and Toys categories. Source and make the products live on site in alignment with company requirements. Costing & Negotiation: Evaluate vendors and suppliers, maintaining strong relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement. Stock Management: Review purchase orders, requisitions, and inventory to maintain optimal stock levels. Manage the ordering process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods. Market/Competition Analysis: Monitor market trends, new products, and supplier performance to ensure competitive pricing. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other essential information. Sales Analysis: To analyse the current business sales and ensuring the growth of category. Operations Management: Work closely with internal departments to understand their needs and provide solutions. Also address and resolve any issues or discrepancies with vendors or deliveries. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Merchandising & Marketing: Co-ordinating internally with merchandising and marketing teams for better visibility of brands and products to customer and business growth Qualifications: Proven experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management specially in the categories of Baby gear, Tricycles Bicycles, Rideons car seats, toys etc Strong negotiation and communication skills. Knowledge of market trends, supplier evaluations, and cost management in above mentioned categories. Proficiency in MS Excel is non-negotiable. Must be comfortable handling large datasets to drive buying decisions. VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and complex trackers are a daily requirement. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
