- Operations and Maintenance- BESS Employment: Permanent Relevant Commissioning Exp: 5 to 8 years Location: Mumbai | Delhi |Gujarat HQ: Mumbai, India Job Summary Grid-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) will be one of the most significant pillars of Indias energy transition over the next decade. At Equentia Energy, we are building utility-scale storage assets and are looking to bring on board a Lead Operations & Maintenance to ensure the long-term reliability, safety, and performance of our BESS assets. This role is ideal for professionals currently working in power generation, renewable energy plants, grid infrastructure companies, or EPC organizations who want to step into a leadership-track role in the fast-emerging BESS sector. The candidate should have worked on project > 500 MW, delivered in RE sector in India and Regional market, preferably India. The applicant should have work experience with DISCOMS, GENCO, GRIDCO, IPP and Developers. Key Responsibilities: 1. Monitoring: Monitoring BESS plant performance across AC-DC and at each inter connection point (Battery systems, PCS, EMS/SCADA, transformers, and balance-of-plant) Implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programs 2. Maintenance: Anchor routine inspections, manage battery performance, adherence to degradation curves through optimized charging/discharging and augmentation strategies. Monitor State of Health (SoH) to manage degradation and trigger warranty claims if performance falls below contracted levels 3. Operations strategy for utility-scale BESS assets such as: I. Preventive Maintenance (PM): Ensuring adherence to safety protocols, battery management standards, and grid compliance requirements II. Breakdown Maintenance: Coordination with OEMs, EPC contractors, and grid operators for system optimization and issue resolution III. Performance analysis, availability tracking, and lifecycle management of BESS assets IV. Scheduling Energy Management Systems (EMS) to automate dispatch based on predefined schedules (day-ahead) V. Grid Management: Ensure seamless power evacuation and coordinate with SLDC (State Load Despatch Centre) for scheduling and forecasting (Q&F;) to avoid DSM (Deviation Settlement Mechanism) penalties VI. Spares Management: Maintain an optimum inventory of "Critical Spares" to ensure high Plant Availability without locking up excessive capital 4. Regulatory Knowledge & Safety standards: I. Deep understanding of CEA (Central Electricity Authority) safety regulations and state-specific SERC (State Electricity Regulatory Commission) norms II.
