Role: Shift Incharge - Controls Location: Chatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) Reporting to: Maintenance Lead - Vehicle&Battery Team Name: Maintenance - Battery Plant About the Role and Team: Master Control Systems&Automation: PLC Logic: You will proficiently develop and modify ladder logic or structured text in common industrial automation platforms like Siemens or Allen-Bradley. You will systematically isolate and resolve control system faults by analyzing PLC code, I/O status, and forcing bits online to minimize machine downtime.HMI&SCADA: You will create and update intuitive screen layouts and graphics for HMIs to improve operator efficiency. You will configure the SCADA system to reliably collect, archive, and report critical production data and design alarm systems that provide clear, actionable notifications. Version Control: You will manage and document all program changes, maintaining version history to ensure quick and reliable rollback capability.Ensure Safety&Compliance: Safety Logic: You will develop and verify safety-rated PLC programs to ensure the line operates within acceptable risk tolerance and meets regulatory requirements. Circuit Validation: You will perform required inspection and testing on safety circuits (e.g., E-stop, light curtain response time) to maintain compliance and system integrity.LOTO Integration: You will design the electrical control system to fully support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, ensuring a zero-energy state for maintenance activities. Manage Networks&Connectivity: Industrial Protocols: You will set up and troubleshoot communication links between PLCs, robots, vision systems, and peripheral devices using industrial protocols (e.g., Profinet, Ethernet/IP). Network Health: You will utilize network diagnostic tools to monitor traffic and identify communication bottlenecks. You will maintain the integrity of the physical network layer, including cables, switches, and connectors.Optimize Motion&Instrumentation: Drives&Servos: You will size, configure, and fine-tune VFDs and servo systems to achieve required acceleration and positioning accuracy. You will analyze drive error codes and feedback (encoders) to resolve synchronization faults. Sensors&Vision: You will select appropriate sensors (vision, proximity, pressure) for specific assembly applications and calibrate field instruments. You will set up and troubleshoot industrial vision systems used for quality checks and automated assembly guidance. Power Quality: You will investigate electrical disturbances, such as harmonics or voltage sags, that impact sensitive control equipment.Drive Data&Documentation: OEE&Analytics: You will configure the control system to accurately calculate and transmit operational data necessary for Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) analysis. Predictive Maintenance: You will develop conditional logic within the PLC to trigger early warnings for developing faults based on historical data or condition monitoring.Knowledge Management: You will create and maintain comprehensive, up-to-date electrical schematics, program comments, and technical manuals. Experience and Qualifications: Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Instrumentation Engineering. Experience: 5+ years of experience in a Battery Manufacturing (Automotive or 2 wheeler Manufacturing preferred), with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.Here's what we are looking for: Automation Expertise: Deep proficiency in Siemens (TIA Portal) or Rockwell (Studio 5000) environments. Experience with safety PLCs and safety standards (ISO 13849/IEC 62061). Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus).Experience with VFDs/Servos (Sinamics, Kinetix) and Vision Systems (Keyence, Cognex). Ability to read and draft electrical schematics (EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical). Analytical Skills: proficiency in network analysis tools and drive diagnostics software. Behavioral&Leadership Competencies Systematic Troubleshooting: You bring a logical approach to fault finding, capable of isolating complex interactions between logic, electrical hardware, and mechanical systems. Operational Empathy: You design HMIs and Alarms not just for function, but for the ease of the operators and maintenance teams using them.Data-Driven Mindset: You focus on leveraging control systems not just to run machines, but to generate actionable data for OEE and predictive maintenance.
