We are looking for a talented and dynamic individual to join our Catastrophe Modelling team at Guy Carpenter. This role is based in Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. We will count on you to:
- Catastrophe data analysis and processing providing Cat Analytics support using the models RMS/AIR/RQE/GC proprietary models
- Working with data tools like Alteryx / R to clean and format the data required for modeling
- Use mapping software like ArcGIS, QGIS to create maps
- Review work, support and mentor junior catastrophe modelers
- Ensure smooth and timely delivery with utmost quality for all the GC clients across the globe by
- Challenge the status quo on the existing ways of working and propose new ways to achieve more efficiency
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the models and manage model uncertainties
- Maintain regular stakeholder interaction & develop relationship with analysts and consultants for constant flow of information on status, exceptions, expectations, forecasts, process changes and new opportunities
- Be a team player – collaborate effectively with the team by setting standards for performance and motivating to achieve beyond these standards What makes you stand out?
- Strong academic rigor with degree in Data science, Mathematics/Statistics or related fields from reputed institutions
- Strong working knowledge of R, with proficiency in SQL
