PostgreSQL Database Administrator (Mumbai)

Job Title: Database Administrator Experience: 3-5 Years Job Summary We are seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) with 3-5 years of experience. The role focuses on managing high-volume transactional databases, ensuring low-latency performance, secure data handling, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP ) and a strong understanding of data structures and database internals. Key Responsibilities :- Database Administration & Operations
- Manage and maintain mission-critical databases supporting trading and investment platforms
- Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery for real-time systems
- Handle production incidents, root cause analysis (RCA), and resolution
- Ensure data consistency and integrity across transactional workflows Cloud Migration & Management
- Plan and execute migration of on-premise databases to AWS / GCP
- Manage cloud-native services (RDS, Aurora, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, DynamoDB)
- Optimize infrastructure for cost, scalability, and performance. Performance Tuning (Low Latency Focus)
- Optimize high-throughput transactional queries
- Design indexing and partitioning strategies for large datasets
- Monitor and reduce query latency for near real-time processing Security, Hardening & Compliance
- Implement database security aligned with fintech regulations
- Manage encryption (at rest and in transit), access control, and secrets management
- Perform database hardening and vulnerability assessments
- Ensure compliance with standards such as SEBI , PCI-DSS , and data protection guidelines Auditing & Monitoring
- Enable audit logging for sensitive financial transactions
- Track user activity and generate compliance reports
- Implement monitoring and alerting using tools like CloudWatch, Stackdriver, Prometheus, or Grafana Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3-5 years of DBA experience
- Hands-on experience with high-volume transactional systems
- Strong expertise in RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle)
- Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB)
- Proficiency in AWS and/or GCP database services
- Robust understanding of data structures, indexing, and query optimization
- Experience in database migration, replication, and failover strategies
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with stock broking platforms or mutual fund distribution systems
- Familiarity with financial data flows (orders, trades, settlements, NAV processing)
- Scripting skills (Python, Bash) for automation
- Experience with real-time data streaming (e.g., Kafka)
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Relevant certifications in AWS or GCP Soft Skills
- Ability to work in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments (e.g., market hours)
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
