Job Purpose: Site Project Head
- Hydro PSP is responsible for overseeing the on-site planning, coordination, and execution of Hydro PSP projects. This role ensures seamless alignment with organizational goals while managing on-site resources, supervising contractors and vendors, mitigating risks, and monitoring project progress to ensure successful, timely, and cost-effective project delivery at the site. Educational Qualifications: B.Tech or Masters degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical) with a specialization in Hydropower or related field. Certifications: Consider pursuing certifications offered by the National Institute of Renewable Energy (NIRE) or the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) in relevant fields like project management, renewable energy, or hydropower. Work Experience: 20+ years of experience in the hydropower sector, with a focus on pumped storage plants (PSP). Proven track record in leading large-scale hydropower projects, managing project teams, and ensuring project delivery on time and within budget. Strong understanding of project management methodologies, risk management, quality assurance principles, and financial management. Strategic Project Planning and Execution: Leads the on-site strategic planning and execution of Hydro PSP projects, setting transparent objectives, defining project scope, and allocating site-specific resources to ensure successful project delivery on time and within budget. Oversees the site execution of multiple projects, ensuring seamless integration of on-site teams and contractors, aligning their work with broader project objectives. Implements site-specific solutions to maintain progress and ensure activities are completed according to the plan. Ensuring Regulatory and Quality Compliance: Ensures that all site-based activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Regularly reviews site conditions, staying updated on changes in regulations, incorporating them into on-site project planning and execution to mitigate legal and operational risks. Leads quality assurance processes on-site, setting benchmarks for construction quality, conducting regular site inspections, and overseeing on-ground corrective actions to maintain compliance with the required standards. Budget Management: Manages the site-specific project budget, monitoring financial performance by closely tracking on-site expenditures, reporting on costs, and identifying areas for potential cost savings. Ensures that resources on-site are utilized effectively and that all expenditures remain within approved financial limits. Oversees the financial performance of on-site activities, ensuring that key financial metrics related to labor, materials, and contractor expenses align with project goals and deliver the expected return on investment. Vendor and Contract Management: Leads the selection and management of vendors and contractors, by overseeing then negotiation of contracts, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring that all contracted work is completed to the required standards, ensuring that they meet the project s technical, financial, and timeline requirements. Oversees the contract management process, by managing contract variations, assessing contractor performance, and implementing measures to ensure compliance with contractual terms, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met and that any issues are resolved promptly. Stakeholder Engagement: Serves as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, by leading stakeholder meetings, and ensuring that all communication is clear, accurate, and timely they are kept informed of project progress, risks, and issues. Develops communication plans that ensure all stakeholders are aligned with the project s goals and objectives by managing stakeholder expectations, addressing concerns, and ensuring that all stakeholder needs are met throughout the project lifecycle. Risk Management and Mitigation: Leads the risk management process for all projects, identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies to ensure project success overseeing regular risk assessments, monitoring risk status, and implementing contingency plans as needed. Oversees the resolution of any issues that arise during project execution, ensuring that they are addressed promptly and effectively coordinating with relevant stakeholders, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring that all issues are documented and reviewed for future projects.
