The Business Development Manager (BDM) will drive revenue growth and market expansion within the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical B2B segment. This strategic role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, developing long-term partnerships, and expanding existing client relationships. The position requires robust industry knowledge, commercial acumen, and the ability to close complex B2B deals across regulated markets. Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Market Analysis
- Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with organizational growth and revenue targets.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities, customer needs, and industry trends.
- Analyze competitive landscape and pricing strategies to maintain a strong market position.
- Identify and prioritize target markets, territories, and high-potential accounts. Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Generate new B2B leads through prospecting, networking, referrals, and industry events.
- Build, manage, and strengthen long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for B2B clients, ensuring high satisfaction and retention.
- Expand business with existing clients through upselling and cross-selling opportunities. Sales, Negotiation & Revenue Growth
- Prepare and deliver persuasive proposals, presentations, RFQs, and RFP responses.
- Negotiate and close commercial contracts, partnerships, and long-term agreements.
- Drive revenue generation across offerings such as APIs, excipients, contract manufacturing, and drug/nutraceutical development services.
- Consistently achieve or exceed defined B2B sales and revenue targets. Internal Collaboration & Reporting
- Collaborate with internal teams including sales, marketing, R&D;, regulatory, legal, and operations to align solutions with client needs.
- Work closely with technical and product teams to design customized offerings.
- Maintain and manage a strong sales pipeline and provide regular forecasts and performance updates to leadership. Compliance & Process Management
- Ensure all business development and sales activities comply with regulatory guidelines (FDA, FSSAI, and applicable global standards).
- Maintain accurate client data, contracts, and deal progress within CRM systems.
- Track KPIs and monitor deal execution to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction. Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in B2B business development or sales within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and sales targets.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical markets, regulatory frameworks, tendering processes, and contract manufacturing models. Key Skills & Competencies
