Job Description – Network Engineer (Lead) Position: Network Engineer (Lead) Experience: 8 – 11 Years Job Location: Electronic City, Bangalore Work Mode: Work From Office (WFO) Notice Period: Immediate to 30 Days Role Description We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Peering Provisioning Engineer to join our network infrastructure team, contributing to the deployment and management of our extensive peering network. This role involves maintaining and expanding our global Edge network infrastructure, offering exposure to diverse technologies and involvement in innovative projects. Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and maintain large-scale production and corporate network and server infrastructure across data centres, Points of Presence (POPs), edge, backbone, and Content Delivery Network (CDN) infrastructure.
- Provide onsite network support and expertise within local data centre campuses and offer remote support for POP sites, collaborating with vendor support teams.
- Schedule and execute network maintenance, repairs, or upgrades with minimal impact on production networks.
- Turn up new circuits and collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot out-of-service or faulty circuits.
- Maintain accurate documentation and database updates to reflect changes in the network. Required Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum CCNA/JNCIA certification required; CCNP (Routing & Switching) preferred.
- Familiarity with PoP infrastructure concepts including:
- MMR
- Cross Connect
- Peering
- Cage
- Patch Panel
- ODF
- Proficient in:
- Fiber-optic technology
- Cable and connector types
- Patch panels
- Optical transport technologies
- Experience in ordering cross connects and local patches from vendors such as:
- Equinix
- Interxion
- Telehouse
- Other regional providers
- Hands-on experience in:
- Edge capacity provisioning
- Decommissioning activities
- Skilled in network optimization activities including:
- Re-stripes
- Migrations
- Capacity upgrades
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with networking protocols such as:
- BGP
- LACP
- IS-IS
- MPLS
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
- Robust troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to handle complex situations under pressure.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with:
- External peers
- Vendors
- Internal teams
- Programming and scripting capabilities are highly desirable.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic global team environment with minimal supervision.
