Business IP, India Function Quality Assurance Job Position Head
- QA Reports to Site GM and Business Manager-Operations Role Summary: the head of quality will lead and manage all quality assurance and quality control activities in the manufacturing of API compliant industrial pumps (e.g. API 610). This role ensures that all processes components and finished products meet internal and external specifications, regulatory standards, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of pump manufacturing API standards and quality management systems. Main Responsibilities / Tasks: 1. Establishes quality assurance programs for ISO requirements or special customer requirements. 2. Controls and coordinates new products or programs to monitor design, construction, performance and quality analysis of products for conformance to customer and contractual requirements. 3. In coordination with purchasing and product engineering, evaluates supplier process capabilities, approves new suppliers and monitors on going supplier performance. Takes corrective actions as necessary based on supplier performance. 4. Maintains IMS auditing process. 5. Establishes long range objectives pertaining to Quality Assurance programs, performing requisite investigations and analysis. 6. Monitors and reports Key Business metrics related to quality, and develops countermeasures as required. 7. Monitors effectiveness of present Quality Assurance programs and consults with management, customers, subcontractors and supplier representatives to plan, schedule, coordinate and direct recent Quality Assurance programs. 8. Reviews proposals, bids, and related documents for Quality Assurance requirements. Establishes and monitors procedures to assure conformance that include requirements for special equipment, personnel, services or space. 9. Responsible for monitoring, reporting and disposition of nonconforming material from internal process or and suppliers 10. Develops and implements quality & inspection procedures as required to ensure product quality. 11. Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product. 12. Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with managers or supervisors to maximize product reliability and minimize costs. 13. Investigates customer complaints regarding quality. 14. Ensures compliance to applicable codes and product certifications ensuring personnel are trained to meet standards such as BPE and ASME Section 9. 15. Provide production support as needed. Required Qualifications & Experience: Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering / Production Engineering Experience: 12 to 15 years of working experience in Pump / Contract Engineering – Pumps / Project Consulting firms / Project Engineering firms / EPC firms. Hands-on knowledge of API standards (especially API 610), ISO Standards, NDT and material inspection What are we looking into an ideal candidate for the position?
