Description – Paint Robot Programming & Simulation Engineer Position Title Paint Robot Programming & Simulation Engineer Location Savli, Gujarat, India Department- Product Engineering (PE) Reporting To Segment Leader Light Vehicle and Product Engineering Job Purpose We are looking for a skilled Team Member with expertise in robotic painting applications, paint process simulation, and Painting robot programming for Laboratory & Paint Shops. The candidate will be responsible for developing, programming, and simulating robotic paint application processes using the painting robots available at our Savli laboratory and supporting implementation at customer production lines across India. The role requires strong technical understanding of paint application processes, robotic automation, and customer-facing problem-solving capabilities. Key Responsibilities
- Create and validate paint application simulations using robotic simulation software.
- Conduct trials and process optimization using painting robots available at the Savli laboratory.
- Prepare robot paths, process parameters, and application logic for various paint systems to simulate Paint Properties at Customer Line and Lab Robots.
- Analyze transfer efficiency, film build, paint quality, and process performance during trials.
- Coordinate with customer production, maintenance, and automation teams during implementation.
- Support new product development and process validation activities.
- Generate technical reports, process documentation, and trial reports.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures during robot operations.
- Travel extensively to customer locations across India for project execution and technical support. Required Skills & Competencies Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of robotic painting systems and paint application processes.
- Hands-on experience in robot programming for painting applications.
- Experience with robotic simulation software and offline programming.
- Knowledge of automotive paint shop & Ancillaries processes including:PrimerBasecoatClearcoatSealer applications
- Understanding of paint atomizers, bell applicators, spray guns, and process parameters.
- Familiarity with PLC/automation interfaces and industrial communication systems is preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot robotic painting defects and process-related issues. Software Knowledge Experience in one or more of the following is preferred:
- ABB RobotStudio
- FANUC PaintPRO / ROBOGUIDE
- Dürr simulation systems
- Kawasaki robotics software
- Other robotic simulation platforms Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in:Mechanical EngineeringMechatronicsElectrical EngineeringAutomation EngineeringRobotics Engineering Experience
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in:Robotic paint applicationPaint shop automationRobot programming and simulationAutomotive OEM or Tier-1 paint shop operations Travel Requirement
- Candidate should be willing to travel extensively to customer production plants across India based on project requirements. Preferred Industry Background Candidates from the following industries will be preferred:
