Position: Infection Control Nurse (ICN)

Department: Nursing / Quality

Location: Hospital

Reporting To: Deputy Medical Superintendent/Quality Head/Medical Director

Job Summary:

The Infection Control Nurse (ICN) is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating infection prevention and control activities in the hospital as per NABH standards. The ICN ensures compliance with infection control protocols, surveillance activities, biomedical waste management practices, and staff education programs to minimize healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).

Key Responsibilities: Conduct surveillance of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs) including SSI, CAUTI, CLABSI, VAP, etc. Monitor infection control practices in all hospital departments. Ensure implementation of NABH infection control standards and protocols. Conduct infection control rounds and audits regularly. Monitor hand hygiene compliance and PPE usage. Coordinate biomedical waste management practices as per guidelines. Collect, compile, analyze, and maintain infection control data and reports. Organize infection control training and awareness sessions for hospital staff. Ensure proper sterilization and disinfection practices are followed. Investigate infection outbreaks and assist in corrective and preventive actions. Coordinate with microbiology laboratory for culture reports and antibiotic sensitivity trends. Participate in Infection Control Committee meetings and prepare MOM/reports. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety goals, and quality indicators. Maintain all infection control documentation as per NABH requirements. Educate patients, attendants, and staff regarding infection prevention practices.

Qualification: GNM / B.Sc. Nursing mandatory Infection Control Certification preferred Valid Nursing Registration required

Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of clinical/hospital experience Experience in NABH-accredited hospital preferred Knowledge of infection control protocols and surveillance systems mandatory

Skills Required: Knowledge of NABH standards Positive communication and presentation skills Audit and documentation skills Team coordination and training ability Computer knowledge for reporting and data management

Salary: As per hospital norms

Duty Timing: As per hospital policy

Pay: ₹35,000.00
- ₹40,000.00 per month
