Siemens PLC Programmer - Automation Engineer (Guindy)

Job Title: PLC / HMI Programmer – Maintenance & Startup Projects Primary Base location: Guindy, Chennai. Experience: 2 to 5 yrs Employment Type: Full-time / Project-based Industry: Industrial Automation / Manufacturing Job Description We are looking for experienced PLC / HMI Programmers to work on international industrial projects, including maintenance support and startup/commissioning activities in Russia and other countries. The role involves on-site coordination, troubleshooting, and commissioning of automation systems for industrial plants. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs for industrial automation systems
- Design, configure, and maintain HMI/SCADA screens
- Perform startup, commissioning, and site acceptance testing (SAT)
- Provide maintenance support and fault diagnosis during plant operations
- Coordinate with on-site engineers, OEMs, and remote engineering teams
- Interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs;, and control logic diagrams
- Ensure compliance with project timelines, safety standards, and quality requirements
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and commissioning records Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering
- Proven experience in PLC and HMI programming
- Hands-on knowledge of one or more PLC platforms such as:
- Siemens (S7-300/400/1200/1500, TIA Portal)
- Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix / CompactLogix)
- Schneider / Mitsubishi / Omron (added advantage)
- Experience with HMI/SCADA systems (WinCC, FactoryTalk, Wonderware, etc.)
- Solid troubleshooting and commissioning experience
- Willingness to travel and work internationally, including Russia
- Good communication and coordination skills Preferred Experience
- Experience in industrial maintenance and plant startup projects
- Exposure to manufacturing, process plants, power plants, or heavy industries
