- Monitor weather and other potential emergency conditions, and take appropriate precautions. Safety Training and Education
- Organize safety training sessions for employees and students.
- Promote safety awareness through workshops and campaigns.
- Maintain safety records and documentation. Incident Investigation
- Investigate and document all safety incidents and near misses.
- Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to safety reporting. Regulatory Compliance
- Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Ensure the organization's compliance with all relevant safety standards.
- Assist in preparing reports for regulatory agencies, as required. Skills Required Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Safety Management, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in fire safety and emergency management (e.g., Certified Fire Protection Specialist, Certified Safety Professional).
- Minimum of 5 + years of experience in fire safety and emergency management.
- Experience in the education industry is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of local and national fire safety codes and regulations.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in MS Office and safety management software. The role demands a leader who can take university sports “to the next level” by driving competitive excellence, increasing student participation in fitness and athletics, and attracting high-performing athletes, while also developing disciplined, service-oriented student leaders through NCC. This position combines high-performance sports management with structured cadet training, national representation, and youth leadership development aligned with institutional growth and nation-building values. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Develop and implement an integrated strategy for Sports and NCC development.
- Establish short-term and long-term performance goals for sports teams and NCC units.
- Position the university as a competitive sporting hub and a recognized NCC institution in Karnataka and nationally.
- NCC Program Development & Administration
- Establish, manage, and strengthen NCC units (Army/Navy/Air Wing as applicable).
- Coordinate with NCC Directorate, Group HQ, and Battalion units for compliance and smooth operations.
- Plan and execute regular drills, training schedules, camps, and certification programs (A, B, and C Certificates).
- Drive cadet participation in national camps (RDC, TSC, NIC, adventure activities).
- Foster leadership, discipline, and community service among cadets. 3. Talent Identification & Recruitment
- Identify and recruit high-potential and star athletes across disciplines.
- Drive student enrollment in NCC and identify cadet leaders.
- Build partnerships with academies, coaches, and NCC networks.
- Develop scholarship frameworks for athletes. 4. Competitive Excellence (Sports)
- Ensure participation in inter-university, state, and national tournaments.
- Increase podium finishes and championship titles.
- Build elite training programs with professional coaching support. 5. Student Engagement, Fitness & Leadership Culture
- Creatively engage students in recreational sports, fitness initiatives, and NCC activities.
- Design campus-wide fitness, discipline, and wellness programs.
- Increase participation across both sports and NCC beyond core performers.
- Network & Partnerships
- Leverage strong industry and NCC/defence connections to:
- Bring reputed coaches, trainers, and NCC officers.
- Host sports tournaments and joint events.
- Facilitate exposure visits, competitions, and training programs.
- Collaborate with relevant bodies such as:
- Association of Indian Universities
- Sports Authority of India
- NCC Group HQ / Battalion Units 7. Infrastructure & Resource Management
- Upgrade and optimize sports and NCC training facilities (grounds, obstacle courses, parade areas).
- Plan new infrastructure aligned with institutional growth.
- Oversee budgeting, equipment procurement (sports gear and NCC kits), and maintenance.
- Branding & Recognition
- Build the university’s sports and NCC brand through media and digital visibility.
- Promote athlete achievements and NCC accomplishments (certifications, camps, national representation).
- Enhance institutional reputation through sporting laurels and NCC excellence. Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s Degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field.
- Minimum 8-12 years of experience in sports administration, athletics leadership, or NCC coordination.
- Experience as an Associate NCC Officer (ANO) is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of building competitive teams and/or managing NCC programs.
