Senior Expert – Robotics & Learning Systems (Gurugram)

Position Summary:

As an expert Robotics & Learning Systems, you will provide end-to-end technical leadership in humanoid robotics, with a focus on learning-enabled autonomy, whole-body control, dexterous manipulation, and safe deployment in industrial environments.

You will define and guide system architectures spanning perception, planning, control, robot learning, and sim-to-real integration to ensure robust, scalable, and operationally reliable robotic systems.

In this role, you will bridge advanced research and industrial-grade engineering, enabling adaptive robotic technologies to deliver measurable business value while meeting high standards of safety, validation, and deployment readiness.

How You'll Make an Impact (key responsibilities of role)

- Define and establish best-in-class methodologies for humanoid robotics learning systems, including perception, whole-body control, loco-manipulation, dexterous manipulation, and planning.
- Drive the safe, scalable deployment of autonomy capabilities in factory and field environments, ensuring industrial robustness, resilience, and operational readiness.
- Integrate research-grade robotics AI into production-grade systems, ensuring reliable validation, maintainability, and lifecycle governance.
- Lead the design of learning-enabled robotic system architectures, including the appropriate boundaries between data-driven learning approaches and deterministic control frameworks.
- Define learning paradigms across supervised, reinforcement, imitation, self-supervised, and hybrid learning approaches for real-world robotic applications.
- Design and govern sim-to-real development pipelines, including simulation strategy, data generation, benchmarking, transfer validation, and deployment playbooks.
- Ensure safety, certification readiness, compliance, and fault tolerance through fail-safe design, degraded-mode operation, risk mitigation, and validation evidence.
- Act as a senior technical authority across research, engineering, product, safety, and service organizations, helping translate advanced robotics concepts into actionable engineering and business decisions. What You Bring (required qualification and skill sets)
- Master's or PhD in Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Control Systems, Autonomous Systems, or a related field
- Extensive experience applying AI and machine learning to physical robotic systems operating in real-world environments.
- Deep understanding of robot perception, control, planning, and learning under uncertainty
- Strong expertise in whole-body control, loco-manipulation, motion planning, trajectory optimization, and dexterous manipulation.
- Proven track record of taking robotics or AI systems from prototyping and pilot stages through industrial deployment, field feedback, and operational improvement.
- Strong expertise in functional safety, risk mitigation, fail-protected mechanisms, and resilient operation for adaptive and autonomous systems.
- Strong experience in robotics AI lifecycle management, including data governance, model validation, monitoring, retraining, and controlled deployment practices.
- Practical understanding of robotic hardware, sensing, actuators, end-effectors, and hardware-software integration constraints.
- Hands-on experience with modern robotics software stacks, distributed robotic architecture, and deployment on real robotic systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex robotics and AI concepts into clear technical direction and leadership decisions.
- High ownership, strong problem-solving capability, and the ability to operate independently in ambiguous, high-impact technical environments.
