Engineer- Mechanical (Circuit Breaker) (Hadapsar)

What you’ll do: "Residential & Wiring devices has an opening for Engineer position in Circuit protection . Primary responsibility of this position will be to work on design and development of circuit protection product range primarily for US markets. He/she will be responsible for driving a culture of innovation, learning & continuous improvement while executing the projects which include NTI, NPI, VAVE and sustaining engineering projects. He/she will be directly responsible for mechanical design of products used for applications in electrical and electronics domain, driving engineering element of the project will be prime focus for this role. He/she should possess solid technical and analytical skills to execute and take engineering decisions based on calculations, simulations, testing and other engineering methods as applicable to the project." " -Works in multiple programs/projects related to new product development (NPD), value analysis and value engineering (VAVE) through the execution in a timely manner, supporting the business goals and profit plan objectives. -Creates CAD drawings, 3D models, Assemblies as per design standards and ensure release in PLM / ERP system. -Knowledge of manufacturing processes including molding, stamping, casting, welding and soldering. -Develops and understands product requirements. Collects requirements, performs conceptual design and completes system/component modelling to meet specific requirements.

-Evaluates multiple concepts through prototype testing. Develops test plans in accordance with applicable product standards. Plans for assembly and test instruments. Responsible for ensuring deployment of standard practices, assessing test results, root cause analysis of failures and taking corrective actions -Modifies existing products to support customer, manufacturing and applicable regulatory standard, supporting value analysis and value engineering while working on projects related with product line support, quality and VAVE "

Qualifications: Bachelor’s / Master’s in Mechanical or Electrical engineering with 3-6 years of experience in design & development of electro-mechanical product lines such as circuit breakers and enclosures.

Skills: "1. Experience in design and development of electro- mechanical products with sound knowledge of design of moulded, sheet metal, machined, cast component design. Knowledge of relevant product standards such as UL, IEC, etc. 2. Should have good knowledge on different product design tools environment like CAD- PRO E, Solid works or E-CAD, and FEA tools as required for product design and development. 3. Proven track record of intellectual property generation with good number of patents / disclosures, successful product launches, realized cost out. 4. Experience must include hand on experience with design of products from concept to commercialization including and not limited to part detailing and designing, component and material selection, drawing creation, 3D modeling of parts/assemblies and 2D dimensioning and tolerance of parts.

5.Analytical skills must include understanding component design/ selection, stresses, fatigue life, component fits and establishing efficient, ergonomic methods of assembly."
