Develop accurate mathematical models of dynamic systems mechanical electrical thermal etc using first-principles physics or system identification techniques Perform designing tuning and implementing various controllers especially PID controllers Proportional-Integral-Derivative as well as advanced techniques like model predictive control MPC robust control and nonlinear control Developing and running complex agile system simulations in Simulink using Control System Toolbox and System Identification Toolbox Code generation from Simulink models e g Embedded Coder for real-time systems in functions stability analysis like Routh-Hurwitz and Nyquist criteria root locus and modern control e g state-space representation controllability observability LQR Knowledge of filtering sampling theory digital control and discrete-time systems Strong background in physics mechanics electrical circuits and thermodynamics depending on the application domain Software Programming Skills Proficient in Python C C Essential for embedded systems real-time operating systems RTOS and high-speed controller implementation Expertise in MATLAB Simulink Knowledge in PLC Programming Industrial Automation Ladder Logic LD Structured Text ST Function Block Diagram FBD and Sequential Function Charts SFC for major platforms e g Siemens Rockwell Allen-Bradley Hardware Implementation Skills Robotics and motion control Kinematics deals with the geometry of motion dynamics and feed forward forces trajectory generation Sensors and Actuators Knowledge of selecting integrating and calibrating various types of sensors e g encoders accelerometers pressure transducers and actuators e g motors valves pumps Data Acquisition DAQ Experience with DAQ hardware and interfacing it with computers or embedded systems Embedded Systems Understanding of microcontrollers e g Arduino ARM FPGAs and how to implement control algorithms on them including real-time programming and low-level driver development Industrial Networking Protocols Familiarity with communication standards like Ethernet IP PROFINET Modbus CAN bus and general industrial cybersecurity principles Analytical Soft Skills Troubleshooting Diagnostics Ability to identify root causes in complex physical and software systems whether it s an unstable loop or a faulty sensor System Integration Skills to bring together diverse hardware and software components into a cohesive functioning system Problem-Solving Strong analytical mindset to translate real-world requirements into mathematical control problems and derive Performance Levels PL or Safety Integrity Levels SIL Safety PLC Programming Designing and implementing safety-rated logic e g using GuardLogix or Siemens F-PLCs for safety devices light curtains safety scanners emergency stops Risk Assessment Conducting risk assessments for robotic cells to define safe zones collaborative limits and protective measures especially critical for collaborative robot installations Academic Qualification Graduate Post-Graduate in Electronics Communication Controls Instrumentation Mechatronics Electrical Electronics Engineering with 6-8 years of experience in
