R&D; Manager – Diaper & Hygiene Products Experience: 8–10 Years Location: Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh Salary: ₹12 – ₹15 LPA Industry: Manufacturing / Hygiene Products Job Overview We are seeking an experienced R&D; Manager with solid expertise in diaper and hygiene product development. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in product innovation, raw material development, testing, process optimization, and commercialization of baby diapers, adult diapers, and sanitary hygiene products. The role involves leading end-to-end product development activities, improving product performance and cost efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous innovation within the hygiene products category. Key Responsibilities Product Development & Innovation
- Lead development and improvement of baby diapers, adult diapers, and sanitary hygiene products
- Design and optimize product components including absorbent core, SAP, nonwoven fabrics, back sheets, elastics, tapes, and acquisition layers
- Develop new product structures and formulations for improved absorption, comfort, leakage control, and skin safety
- Customize products based on market requirements and customer feedback
- Conduct market benchmarking and home sample testing for product comparison
- Establish and maintain R&D; lab equipment and testing systems Research, Testing & Validation
- Conduct laboratory testing for absorbency, rewet, leakage, tensile strength, and comfort performance
- Benchmark products against competitors and global quality standards
- Evaluate raw materials for quality, compatibility, and product performance
- Analyze testing data and prepare technical evaluation reports Process & Cost Optimization
- Work closely with production and quality teams for smooth product scale-up and commercialization
- Optimize BOM and raw material usage to improve cost efficiency without compromising quality
- Support machine efficiency improvement, waste reduction, and yield optimization initiatives Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with BIS, ISO, FDA, and hygiene product quality standards
- Support audits, certifications, and regulatory documentation processes
- Investigate product quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions Vendor & Material Development
- Evaluate and approve raw material suppliers for SAP, nonwoven fabrics, adhesives, and films
- Collaborate with vendors for material trials, product innovation, and performance improvement Team & Project Management
- Lead and mentor R&D; engineers, technicians, and product development teams
- Manage multiple R&D; projects with defined timelines and budgets
- Prepare technical reports, SOPs, product specifications, and development documentation Required Skills
- Strong understanding of diaper structure, absorbent hygiene products, and raw materials
- Expertise in nonwoven technology and hygiene product development
- Hands-on experience with diaper manufacturing machines and testing methods
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and product innovation skills
- Experience in product commercialization and process optimization
- Strong project management and cross-functional coordination abilities
- Excellent documentation and communication skills Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Textile Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
- Specialized knowledge in absorbent hygiene products and nonwoven technology preferred Experience
- 8–10 years of experience in R&D; within diaper, sanitary napkin, or hygiene product manufacturing industry
- Hands-on experience in product development, testing, scale-up, and commercialization processes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
