Job Summary We are looking for a passionate and skilled Chef to lead kitchen operations in our Indian café. The Chef will be responsible for preparing high-quality food, maintaining hygiene standards, managing kitchen inventory, and ensuring a smooth kitchen workflow while delivering a outstanding dining experience to customers. Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook café menu items including Indian snacks, fast food, beverages, and fusion dishes.
* Ensure consistency in food taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
* Develop and suggest new menu items, seasonal specials, and café-style plating ideas.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen as per food safety guidelines.
* Monitor food preparation processes and ensure timely service during peak hours.
* Manage kitchen stock, raw materials, and daily inventory requirements.
* Minimize food wastage and maintain cost-effective kitchen operations.
* Coordinate with café staff for smooth order execution and customer satisfaction.
* Ensure proper storage of ingredients and monitor freshness of food items.
* Train and supervise kitchen helpers or junior staff when required.
* Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance needs.
* Follow all health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Daily Tasks
* Prepare ingredients and mise en place before café opening.
* Cook and assemble customer orders efficiently.
* Check stock levels and prepare purchase requirements.
* Maintain workstation cleanliness throughout the shift.
* Taste and monitor food quality regularly.
* Handle customer customization requests when needed.
* Close kitchen operations properly at the end of the day. Required Skills & Qualifications
* Experience in café, restaurant, or fast-food kitchen operations.
* Knowledge of all major cuisine, snacks, beverages, and café-style cooking.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Good time management and multitasking skills.
* Understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices.
* Creative mindset for menu innovation and presentation. Preferred
* Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management.
