Experience 4 years relevant experience in Alteryx Server administration / analytics platform support Role Overview We are hiring an experienced Alteryx Server Administrator with strong hands-on exposure to Alteryx Server upgrades, migrations, patching, production support, workflow troubleshooting, and platform stability . This role is not for a basic Alteryx Developer or someone who has only handled user access/documentation. The ideal candidate should have worked on live Alteryx Server environments and should be comfortable handling upgrade activities, post-upgrade validation, incident resolution, and production support. Key Responsibilities Alteryx Server Administration Administer and support Alteryx Server environments across UAT and Production. Manage Alteryx Gallery, users, roles, collections, permissions, and license allocation. Monitor workflow schedules, job queues, long-running workflows, and failed executions. Support Alteryx Designer users with publishing, scheduling, and server-related issues. Server Upgrade, Migration & Patching Execute or support hands-on Alteryx Server upgrades, version migrations, and patching activities . Perform pre-upgrade checks, server backup, configuration validation, and post-upgrade testing. Validate workflows, schedules, Gallery access, credentials, connections, and services after upgrade. Troubleshoot post-upgrade issues related to workflows, Python dependencies, credentials, encryption, and server configuration. Coordinate with infrastructure, security, database, and application teams during planned upgrade/change windows. Production Support & Troubleshooting Provide L2/L3 production support for Alteryx Server and business-critical workflows. Investigate and resolve workflow failures, scheduler delays, service issues, and server performance problems. Perform RCA by analyzing server logs, application logs, workflow execution history, system metrics, and scheduler queues. Handle incidents, service requests, and change requests through tools such as ServiceNow/JIRA. Ensure SLA-based resolution and maintain production stability. Backup, Recovery & Platform Stability Support backup, restore, and recovery processes for Alteryx Server environments. Work with MongoDB / persistence layer, configuration files, workflows, and server repository where applicable. Support DR validation, rollback planning, and production recovery activities. Monitor server health, CPU, memory, disk usage, worker nodes, controller services, and Gallery performance. Recommend platform improvements for better scalability, reliability, and performance. Security & Integration Manage authentication and access control through AD / LDAP / SAML / SSO where applicable. Support SSL certificate renewal and security-related configuration. Validate encrypted credentials, connections, and credential migration during upgrades. Ensure compliance with organizational security and data governance standards. Mandatory Skills Strong hands-on experience in Alteryx Server Administration Experience in Alteryx Server upgrades, patching, or migration Production support experience for Alteryx Server environments Workflow failure troubleshooting and log analysis Gallery, scheduler, collections, user roles, and permissions management Incident, change, and problem management experience Understanding of Alteryx Server architecture: Controller, Worker, Gallery, Persistence/MongoDB Backup, restore, validation, and post-upgrade support exposure Solid troubleshooting mindset and ability to work under production pressure Good to Have Skills Python package/environment compatibility handling during Alteryx upgrades Crypto/encryption/credential migration experience MongoDB / Robo 3T exposure Multi-node Alteryx Server setup experience SAML / SSO / AD / LDAP / SSL certificate handling Windows Server / Linux administration exposure ServiceNow / JIRA experience Experience supporting enterprise analytics platforms such as Tableau or Power BI Candidate Must Have Actually Worked On The candidate should be able to explain hands-on experience in: Which Alteryx Server versions they upgraded from and to Pre-upgrade and post-upgrade validation steps Backup and rollback planning Workflow failures after upgrade Python dependency or package-related upgrade issues Credential / encryption / crypto migration impact Live production incidents and RCA Logs checked during server or workflow failure Whether they personally executed the upgrade or only coordinated it Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is someone who has moved beyond basic Alteryx administration and has handled real production responsibilities such as: server upgrades migration support production incidents scheduler failures workflow troubleshooting backup/restore platform monitoring RCA and SLA-driven support This role requires a hands-on platform administrator who can own issues, work with multiple technical teams, and ensure Alteryx Server stability in a live business environment.
