Description
Overview We are seeking an Integration Engineer to build and support enterprise integrations for agent orchestration workflows, enabling agents and humanagent collaboration steps to interact securely with core enterprise systems such as SAP, ServiceNow, Salesforce, and other business applications leveraging Temporal/Durable Execution backbone. This role focuses on implementing and maintaining connectors/clients, API integrations, and standardized interface schemas (including tool/action definitions) so that orchestrated workflows can reliably read/write data, trigger actions, and support approvals and handoffs. The role partners closely with orchestration engineering, enterprise application owners, security, and platform teams to ensure integrations are secure, auditable, resilient, and testable. Responsibilities 1) Connector/Client Development for Enterprise Apps (40%)
- Build and maintain integration connectors/clients for enterprise applications (SAP, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Temporal and others) to support agent-initiated reads/writes and workflow actions. (Execute)
- Implement standardized action/tool interfaces (schemas, request/response contracts) so orchestration workflows can call integrations consistently across systems. (Execute)
- Support event-driven patterns where applicable (webhooks, polling, scheduled jobs) for workflow triggers and updates. (Execute/Consult) 2) Security, Access Auditability for Integrations (20%)
- Implement secure authentication/authorization patterns for integrations (OAuth, API keys, service principals) aligned with enterprise IAM guidance; ensure least-privilege access. (Consult/Execute)
- Ensure auditability for integration calls: structured logging, correlation IDs, request/response metadata capture, and approval traces where required. (Execute)
- Follow data classification and PII handling requirements, including redaction or minimization in logs and payloads as mandated. (Execute/Consult) 3) Reliability, Error Handling Resilience (20%)
- Implement resilience patterns: retries with backoff, idempotency keys, rate-limit handling, circuit breakers, and graceful degradation for downstream outages. (Execute)
- Define and maintain error taxonomies and consistent failure responses so workflows can recover or escalate deterministically. (Execute/Consult)
- Participate in root cause analysis for integration incidents and implement fixes to reduce defect recurrence. (Execute) 4) Testing, Validation Release Support (15%)
- Build integration test suites using sandbox/non-prod environments; validate end-to-end orchestration workflows that depend on integrations before promotion to production. (Execute)
- Support release readiness: documentation, configuration checklists, and rollback notes for integration components. (Execute/Consult) 5) Collaboration Continuous Improvement (5%)
- Coordinate with enterprise app teams on API changes, sandbox access, and change windows; propose small improvements to integration templates and developer experience. (Consult/Execute) Decision-Making Autonomy: Moderate owns implementation choices for connectors within established architecture and security guardrails; escalates IAM/policy and cross-system tradeoffs.Supervision Required: Moderate receives guidance and review from integration lead/orchestration engineer for patterns, governance, and operational readiness.Complexity of Role: Moderate-high multiple systems with heterogeneous APIs/auth models, rate limits, and strict audit/compliance needs.Cross-Functional Interactions: Yes continuous interaction with enterprise app owners, IAM/security, API gateway, orchestration engineering, and SRE/observability. Qualifications Key Skills/Experience RequiredMinimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors in CS/Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Hands-on experience building API integrations and shipping production services/components. Required Expertise
- Integration engineering: REST/SOAP (as needed), webhooks, event-driven integration patterns
- Enterprise app APIs: familiarity with at least one of SAP / ServiceNow / Salesforce integration ecosystems (APIs, objects, common auth patterns)
- Auth/security basics: OAuth2, service accounts, token handling, least privilege, secrets management awareness
- Reliability engineering basics: retries/backoff, idempotency, rate-limit handling, structured error handling
- Testing: unit/integration tests, sandbox validation, mock frameworks, contract testing concepts
- Observability: structured logging, correlation IDs, basic metrics for latency/error rate Differentiating Competencies
- Ownership: completes integration deliverables end-to-end with strong quality and documentation
- Collaboration customer focus: works effectively with app owners and workflow teams; unblocks dependencies
- Communication: clear status updates, crisp issue descriptions, and reliable handoffs
- Adaptability: learns recent enterprise systems/APIs quickly; adjusts to changing requirements
- Process improvement mindset: contributes reusable templates and reduces repeated integration toil Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.in/job/4nahw5
