Mainframe Modernization Consultant (Junagadh)

Job Title: Mainframe Modernization Consultant Location : Remote Employment Type : Part Time/Consulting Job Summary We are hiring an experienced Mainframe Modernization Consultant with deep expertise in legacy application transformation, automated code conversion, and cloud modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience modernizing enterprise mainframe systems into Java or .NET-based architectures using leading modernization platforms, AI-assisted conversion tools, and cloud-native technologies. This role is ideal for professionals who have worked on large-scale COBOL modernization, replatforming, code remediation, and migration factory programs across banking, insurance, healthcare, government, or enterprise IT environments. Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mainframe modernization and legacy transformation initiatives.
- Analyze existing COBOL, CICS, JCL, VSAM, IMS, and DB2 applications and define modernization strategies.
- Execute automated and semi-automated code conversion from COBOL to Java or C#/.NET platforms.
- Work with modernization tools and platforms for replatforming and application transformation.
- Design and implement modernization pipelines, remediation frameworks, and migration factories.
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA teams, and cloud engineers during transformation programs.
- Ensure functional equivalence between legacy and transformed applications.
- Perform business rule extraction and semantic code analysis from legacy systems.
- Support batch migration, online transaction modernization, and database transformation efforts.
- Utilize AI-assisted modernization and LLM-based code conversion approaches to accelerate migration timelines.
- Participate in modernization assessments, discovery workshops, and estimation exercises.
