Job Title: Design Engineer About Us: We are an organisation with focus on lighting and home automation. Our home automation division have projects in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamizhnadu catering to requirements for
· Wireless and wired automation for lighting, fans, AC, curtains, gate,
· WiFi and networking solutions,
· Intrusion protection,
· CCTV,
· Video door phones,
· Home theatres summary: Responsible for conceptualising and designing home automation systems in AutoCAD, preparing BOQs, and supporting the sales team with accurate and quick proposals, coordinate with site electricians, our installation engineers and procurement and billing team Role:
· Home automation system concept and design – Initial concept and proposal for closing the order and detailed design for execution. Responsibility lies with the engineer in understanding project requirements and design optimisation for cost and functionality.
· Schematic drawings in AutoCAD for preparing BOQs and execution by electricians and installation engineers
· Learn to do remote programming of various home automation systems using custom software provided by different companies/ platforms
· BOQs and proposals in MS Excel and MS Word
· System products presentation in MS Power point (Maintain a ready and standard format)
· Coordination and assistance to sales team during their sales pitch and order closing meeting with client and specifiers about system configuration, USPs
· Coordination and assistance to installation engineers and electricians on site
· Coordination with procurement and billing team
· Strictly adhere to the documentation process followed in the organisation
· Update oneself about new systems, solutions and products by attending exhibitions, product classes by companies and from internet. Key Performance Indicators: Quick turnaround for initial concept and proposals (not more than 1.5 days), minimal to zero rework on system design, drawings and BOQ and programming, customer satisfaction in the solution and the project cost. Required Skills & Competencies Technical:
· Basic knowledge of electrical and electronics systems, IP networking (LAN, routers, static and agile IPs)
· Basic understanding of functioning of various electrical and electronic products like sensors, motors
· Understanding of wired and wireless communication protocols
· Exposure on functioning of IoT platforms, Zigbee, Bluetooth and WiFi based systems and technologies, exposure to DMX, DALI systems
· Basic knowledge to use AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, Power point Soft skills: GoodCommunication, teamwork, collaboration, adaptability, flexibility, great work ethics, reliability, being proactive and taking initiatives Languages: Malayalam, English, Hindi (Added advantage) Experience: Any experience in home/ industrial automation systems are an added advantage. We will be providing on the job training for various systems. A person with good understanding of the basic principles and technology will be able to pick up within 3 months. Qualification: Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in electronics, computers. Compensation Structure: 20,000/- to 35,000/- depending on the experience and skill set Work Location & Travel: Trivandrum, Kerala. Travel will be occasional to sites or offices as required. Work related travel will be reimbursed at actuals. Working Days & Timings: Monday to Saturday – 9:30 to 6:30pm.
