Plumbing Design Engineer (Kowdiar)

Job Title: Plumbing Design Engineer Location: Trivandrum Company: Sumanam Engineering Services consultants Job Type: Full-time Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Plumbing Designer with hands-on experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and drafting plumbing systems for multi-story IT, commercial, residential, hospitality, and hospital buildings, ensuring compliance with local building codes and project requirements. Key Responsibilities:
- Design comprehensive plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, waste, and vent systems, for multi-storied buildings.
- Create detailed plumbing layouts, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD and other relevant software.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with other MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) engineers, architects, and project stakeholders to integrate plumbing systems seamlessly into overall project designs.
- Perform hydraulic calculations for pipe sizing, pump selection, and water pressure.
- Prepare bill of materials (BOM) and technical reports.
- Review and approve contractor/shop drawings, and provide technical support during construction phases.
- Conduct site visits to ensure designs are being implemented according to plans and to troubleshoot any issues. Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in plumbing design for IT, commercial, residential, hospitality, and hospital projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Solid understanding of plumbing codes, standards, and regulations.
- Experience in creating plumbing layouts, isometric drawings, and hydraulic calculations.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with green building practices and sustainable plumbing design.
