Technical Head - Intermediate R&D (Hands-On Role) (Kota)

We are building a rapid, execution-driven R&D; engine focused on API intermediates and specialty chemicals. Responsibilities
· Develop API intermediates from basic and early-stage raw materials
· Execute and optimize lab-scale reactions and scale-up to pilot and plant level
· Deliver rapid development cycles through structured experimentation (DoE) and disciplined weekly to monthly planning
· Take ownership from route selection → lab development → pilot → commercialization
· Improve yield, cost, and robustness of existing products through process optimization Qualifications
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or a related field
- 10–20 years of relevant industry experience in process development and scale-up Experience & Skills
- Demonstrated experience in the development of API intermediates from early-stage raw materials (not limited to final API stages)
- Proven track record of having personally developed and executed multiple intermediates
- Strong hands-on expertise in reaction execution, process optimization, and scale-up
- Practical understanding of reaction chemistry, including scale-up challenges, safety, and cost considerations.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot technical challenges and drive solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on execution, speed, and outcomes
- Effective communication skills for coordination across R&D;, production and management teams
- Direct involvement in experimental work and scale-up is essential; profiles limited to supervision or coordination will not be a fit Additional Requirements
- This is a hands-on, on-site role requiring regular presence at the plant and laboratory in Kota, Rajasthan
- This role is not suited for purely managerial profiles; candidates are expected to be directly involved in experimental and scale-up work
- Candidates with experience limited to final API synthesis using advanced intermediates may not be a suitable fit
- The role requires an execution-oriented mindset with the ability to deliver within defined timelines and avoid prolonged development cycles
- Candidates should be able to clearly articulate specific intermediates they have developed , including: starting raw materials, key reactions, scale achieved, and their exact role in execution and scale-up Application Requirement
