Care giver (Kozhikode)

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and feeding.

- Support clients in adhering to treatment plans, including medication schedules and therapy appointments.

- Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals with mental health conditions.

- Monitor clients for behavioral changes, distress, or crisis situations and report to clinical staff promptly.

- Accompany clients to medical or social service appointments when required.

- Support clients in developing life skills such as cooking, cleaning, and money management.

- Ensure a safe and supportive workplace at the community psychiatry centre or during home visits.

- Participate in therapeutic and recreational activities as guided by clinical staff.

- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the dignity and rights of all clients.

- Collaborate with mental health professionals and community workers as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements Required Skills and Competencies:

- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

- Basic understanding of mental health conditions and the challenges faced by individuals with psychiatric illnesses.

- Good interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.

- Observant and proactive in identifying clients’ needs and changes in behavior.

- Physical stamina and emotional resilience to support clients with varying levels of independence.

- Willingness to work in diverse community settings, including home environments.

- Basic literacy and record-keeping abilities.
