Care Giver Kozhikode

Key Responsibilities:

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and feeding.

Support clients in adhering to treatment plans, including medication schedules and therapy appointments.

Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals with mental health conditions.

Monitor clients for behavioral changes, distress, or crisis situations and report to clinical staff promptly.

Accompany clients to medical or social service appointments when required.

Support clients in developing life skills such as cooking, cleaning, and money management.

Ensure a secure and supportive workplace at the community psychiatry centre or during home visits.

Participate in therapeutic and recreational activities as guided by clinical staff.

Maintain confidentiality and uphold the dignity and rights of all clients.

Collaborate with mental health professionals and community workers as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

Required Skills and Competencies:

Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

Basic understanding of mental health conditions and the challenges faced by individuals with psychiatric illnesses.

Valuable interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.

Observant and proactive in identifying clients’ needs and changes in behavior.

Physical stamina and emotional resilience to support clients with varying levels of independence.

Willingness to work in diverse community settings, including home environments.

Basic literacy and record-keeping abilities.
