OT Senior Scrub Nurse (Kolathur)

Job Summary The OT Senior Scrub Nurse is responsible for assisting surgeons during surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile environment, preparing instruments and equipment, and ensuring patient safety throughout the operation. The Senior Scrub Nurse also supervises junior OT staff and ensures smooth functioning of the operation theatre. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare operation theatre before surgeries.
- Ensure all surgical instruments, equipment, and consumables are sterilized and ready.
- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
- Maintain strict sterile techniques and infection control practices.
- Count instruments, needles, and surgical materials before and after procedures.
- Monitor proper handling of surgical specimens.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, and OT technicians during procedures.
- Supervise and guide junior scrub nurses and OT staff.
- Ensure OT documentation and records are properly maintained.
- Handle emergency surgical situations efficiently.
- Check functionality of OT equipment before surgery.
- Ensure patient safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and discipline inside the operation theatre.
- Report any equipment malfunction or shortage immediately.
